Introduction

SIP Registration


If you have strict firewall policies in place you will need to ensure the appropriate address and ports are added to be allowed as part of your firewall rules. Firstly, log in to your
 customer portal, select the PBX tab and click on SIP devices at the bottom left-hand corner of the page. All your SIP devices will be displayed and you will be able to identify the SIP server and port which your endpoints are configured, as shown in the image below.

Depending on the firewall, it might be a stateful or stateless application. If the stateless application, allow both inbound and outbound traffic for the IP address and port on your firewall. To discover the IP address for the SIP server, you can simply run a ping command from the command prompt on your PC, as shown in the image below or use the following table.

Alternatively, you can "whitelist" the entire 103.242.182.0/24 address block in your firewall which is assigned to VoIPline Telecom.

 

Please note if you are using SIP peering, the technical team will have advised you of the IP address and port to use at the time of the peering trunk when configured on our end.

 

Also, regardless of the address of the SIP-server, please ensure that you are using FQDN (for example sipmreg.au.voipcloud.online) instead of the direct IP address. SIP-server uses load balancing, so your devices don't always connect to the same public IP address.

 

RTP servers and port range

 

The RTP protocol is used to carry real-time traffic, such as audio and video during a call. For this reason, you will also need to allow both inbound and outbound traffic for the following IP addresses and the specified port ranges. If both inbound and outbound rules are not in place, one-way audio issues could occur.
